Principal’s Message

Mount St Joseph Catholic College (MSJ) is proudly a comprehensive school for girls in the Josephite tradition, that is a member of the Sydney Catholic Schools network. Since its foundation in 1960, MSJ has been a place of educational opportunity for young women.
The School draws strongly on its Josephite tradition and like St Mary of the Cross MacKillop is committed to social awareness and outreach to those on the margins of society.

When you visit MSJ you will see that it is a school of welcome and hospitality where students are happily engaged in their academic achievements and their involvement in sporting, cultural and social activities. The School maximises its physical advantages through facilities enhanced to provide a contemporary space for girls’ education.

History

Mount St Joseph Catholic College was opened in 1960 in answer to a desperate need for a Catholic girls’ secondary school in south-western Sydney. The spirit in which this need was met for the people living in and around Milperra was the same spirit which animated Mary MacKillop, Australia’s first saint, whose life was lived in response to the needs of her day.

Mission

To know and love Christ in the spirit of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop and Fr Julian Tenison Woods through learning and action.

Mount St Joseph is connected with the local parish of St Luke’s Revesby. The Parish Priest is Fr Dariusz Basiaga SDS JP PP. Students of our school are involved in the parish community through a number of ministries and regularly join in parish celebrations.
