Leadership Programs
Mount St Joseph Catholic College Milperra aims to educate all students to see themselves as agents of change in society. They are provided with opportunities to grow in confidence and the belief that “MSJ Girls Can Do Anything”.
Leadership Training Programs are aimed at developing skills in communication, negotiation, decision-making, negotiation and creative problem-solving and leadership for all students.
The school has an active Student Representative Council (SRC). The SRC is made up of forty-five students and are led by the School Captain and two School Vice-Captains. Each of the six House are also represented on the SRC with two Year 12 House Captains and two Year 11 House Vice-Captains. Additionally, there are six students from each year group (one from each House) who are appointed to the SRC.
Each Homeroom has two Year 10 Peer Support Leaders and various House activities allow students to take up leadership roles throughout the year.
A large number of informal opportunities also exist. Students at all year levels may opt to lead a variety of initiatives within their House or Homeroom. The many social justice initiatives, service learning opportunities and events that occur at MSJ also increase the opportunities for students to develop leadership skills.
Servant leadership is at the core of every leadership experience and opportunity at MSJ.
